The most important decisions require the best advice: "contact your local authorized ELS Student Counselor."
What is Conditional Admission?
Conditional admission means that the admitting university has made the determination that the student is academically admissible, based on the student’s academic record and other university and/or departmental and program requirements.
Conditional admission includes those additional requirements that the student must satisfy in order to turn the conditional admission into a full admission. Once these requirements are fulfilled, the student is granted full admission. Such requirements may include:
- Fulfillment of the institution’s English language proficiency requirement through:
- Completion of the required ELS level
- Attainment of the required TOEFL® iBT score
- Attainment of the required IELTS™ score (if accepted by the institution)
- Submission of other required scores, for example GMAT® or GRE® for graduate programs.
Our ELS Universities will present a Conditional Letter of Admission (CLA) detailing these requirements for matriculation. As such, students and their families can rest assured that the student has a university placement and ELS registration prior to departing for the USA.
